There’s no official statement yet linking the Iran-Israel conflict directly to a change in UK or Schengen visa approval rates. However, geopolitical tensions can influence visa scrutiny, especially for applicants from or with ties to regions involved in conflict. For example, Iran had a Schengen visa rejection rate of 30.3% in 2024, which was already relatively high. In contrast, the UAE had a 22.8% rejection rate, and India’s was around 15.8%.
